Your customer shouldn’t have to interrogate you just to get a solution for her problem. She shouldn’t have to pin you to the wall and force you to sell her something. She shouldn’t have to chase you down to give you her money.
You would think this would be a fairly obvious concept, but for some reason, this simple idea escapes a lot of folks. You don’t have to look very far these days to find customer no-service people who feel they’re doing the customer a favor just by showing up to work.
The first episode of my new video series underlines the crucial point that everyone who is in customer service (and all of us are, by the way) should step up with solutions for their customers.
